We are a young family of 3 living in Regina, Saskatchewan. Haylie, Trevor and I (Danita) fell in love with this breed many years ago after an exhausting search into exactly what breed of dog we believed to be best matched for our family. Small and compacted but not a delicate dog, easy grooming and care for, loves all people, completely adaptable to all situations, a "BIG DOG IN A SMALL PACKAGE" well it was a Boston Terrier that fit all of our criteria to a T.
They came into our lives with a "bang" so to speak (please see girls Deja Rose). They have warmed out hearts, beds and hogged the couches for years now. We have found that they are all very unique, amazingly charming and fun to have around. We could never imagine our lives without our "stinky tuxedo clad" Boston’s.
Haylie is our daughter and recently began junior handling we are so proud of her efforts and hope she will continue throughout the years. She has grown up with Boston’s, helps train, feed, and kid proof all of our dogs, although I still haven't managed to get her to help with "back yard" clean up, she is more than happy to help bathing and even hold while we do nails. She loves to read to the dogs, and you will often find at least 2 of them sleeping in bed with her every night "bedtime she calls" and off they go with her.
Trevor is the man behind us girls, you will never find him in an obedience or conformation ring but his love support and efforts behind the scenes are truly appreciated. He is our shoulder to cry on when things don't work out, our cheerleader which encourages us to never give up and oh so excited when we meet our goals, our truck loader, heavy lifter, builder, and yucky job handler. An amazing man he works full time and still finds time to help with all the sometime strange and unusual tasks associated with Dog Sports and Breeding.
I (Danita) owe so much of what my life is now to this amazing breed. They have taught me patience and gratitude. Have humbled me, and shown such love and devotion they are such amazing little creatures I think the best dogs in the world. We didn't start out with any forethought info breeding showing or obedience we came into Boston’s with the idea of adding another member to our family.
Years after we rescued our first Boston a non standard/disqualifying colour female Deju Rose it became more apparent to me that I wanted to do more for the breed I wanted to become invested in where they were going, the perception people had of them, and decided to look for another Boston of Conformation Standard to join our family and start our foundation with.
Although our first attempt and well second did not turn out as hoped it enabled us to become involved with many organizations that we have since become members of. Canadian Kennel Club, Boston Terrier Club of Canada, Boston Terrier Club of America, and the Regina Kennel and Obedience Club. From these clubs we have learned a great deal about conformation, obedience, agility, grooming and well even more ways to bond with our dogs.
I (Danita) own my own home business grooming pets of all kinds, shapes, variety and sizes. I have also recently started handling and training others dogs for the confirmation ring, as well as making custom show leads, beds, shampoo's etc for resale. Working from home allows me to spend extra time with my family both of the human variety and our fur babies. My life is truly beautiful, I am doing what I love and have some of the best clients in the world.
We live for our dogs, not off our dogs!
